Hey all!

I know my blog has been inactive for a while, but today I want to post about something significant.

I'm really very, very grateful towards TK Foto Technic for allowing me to exchange my defected camera, that I had purchased from them last Wednesday (9th Feb 2011), for a brand new one, including the lens as well! Apparently, my previous camera has strange hot pixels on its LCD that appear when I turned the camera on, and then when I turned it off and on it again, the hot pixels just disappear from the LCD. Hence, it is not conclusive if the problem has already been solved automatically, or is still inherent. It turns out that my previous warranty for the defected camera can be voided by Canon, and the shop can just return the product to Canon and hence it might not be a win-lose situation. Nonetheless, I managed to obtain a brand new camera ( and lens :) ) and hence once again, I'm very grateful towards the shop for going the extra mile in building great relationships with its customers!

Today I donated blood for the very first time! And it wasn't as bad an experience as I had expected it to be! Today's experience indeed also cleared my misconception of experiencing painful sensations during the insertion of needles in blood donations :)

WOW I'm finally back to post a random post! (though it might be a long time before I post another one again :P)

This post is "triggered" by a classmate of mine, a.k.a Javid, who recently created a blog and thus I now have to urge to post again :)

Anyway, I'm now in the midst of preparing for the As, which are coming really, really soon (trust me, 4 months plus is really quite a short time)! Lectures and tutorials are now jam-packed with revision exercises and on our part, we have to revise on the chapters so that we can complete the exercises given in school. It's really gonna be an extremely stressful period in the coming weeks ahead, but I really hope that I would be able to brave through this tough time and be consistent with my revision, believing that the Lord will grant me the strength and perseverance! :)

Today was really an unusual day! Here's a brief summary:

In the morning, the TOOP members had to go back for a briefing on our new trip, namely TOOP Tanjung Balai. After that, we spent the entire morning working with our small groups in planning the activities to do in the village for the 4 days we will spend in Indonesia.

In the afternoon, I went to take the seasonal flu vaccination at a clinic near our school after lunch. It cost $24.00 you know! Thankfully it wasn't that painful as expected. In fact, it felt just like an ant bite for a second or two.

After that, we went back to school for more planning and had fun also with games that we planned to play with the children in the village. These include 007, Husband & Wife (the funniest amongst the rest XD) and Captain's Frisbee/Ball.

In the evening, we started our hunt for the 'miracle pills', a.k.a. malaria pills. It was really awkward as we searched for pharmacies and clinics around the Bedok Interchange area like desperados! And then the pharmacists told us that the pills were not allowed to be bought by those under 18... So apparently we couldn't buy it ourselves. And clinics also won't allow us to just buy the pills without seeing the doctor... In the end, I asked my parents to buy the pills on my behalf.

In the night, I attended the mini-concert by Bedok View Concert Band at the school hall of Bedok View Secondary School. It wasn't a full house, despite the fact that it was FOC :X Anyway, it was a great chance to see the band again and also to catch up with old friends :)

Hai... The dreaded day that all TOOP members has arrived...

We were all told today that our trips to Yunnan were officially cancelled by the college leaders. So that's it, all thanks to H1N1. Undeniably, all of us felt a sense of disappointment, but nevertheless, the school is just acting on its responsibility to ensure the well-being of her students...

Oh well, I hope that it would be a blessing in disguise, despite the surprise and disappointment that the news initially gave us. And tomorrow we are going to have a Q & A session with Mrs Loke, our principal. Hopefully all of our questions would be answered to satisfactory :)

PW is finally a history for me now! Haha XD

Today's OP exam was quite manageable (I guess :X). Before our group was to present, 2 more TJ teachers, followed by 3 external moderators (one of them being a Caucasian), came to sit behind the classrom, apart from the 2 examiners who were already sitted there since the first group presented. That gives a total of 7 adults watching us for the entire time our group took to present! It was definitely nerve-wrecking, but nevertheless, they did inform us that our group was to expect the company of external moderators during our presentation, so I guess we didn't feel much of a surprise than if we weren't told that they were coming. However, I think our group still did our best :)

And I'm definitely grateful for getting a question that we had prepared as a group, during the Q & A session. "Apart from Facebook, how else can you publicise your online game?" was roughly the question asked. Hoped I answered it correctly to redeem myself for my speedy individual presentation, which they might fault me for my fluency I think.

Anyway, just to highlight again,

Actually I spent the whole day today, together with my Project Work group, completing our Written Report Draft 3 and our Oral Presentation slides... Though it was a tiring and dry day, nevertheless there was still an element of fun in our meeting :)

Hey! It has been really a long, long time since my last post. I'm officially reviving my blog again (perhaps for this post only :P)

Something major has happened today so I decided to blog about it, hence this post. According to our TOOP teachers-in-charge, our outreach trip to Cambodia has been cancelled!!! OMGosh it was really very sudden :X And the reason was apparently due to the possibility of the mutation of the H1N1 virus, which might become rampant towards the end of the year. Our School feels that the village, that we were supposedly going to help, is very inaccessible and requires approximately 3-4 hours to get to the nearest hospital, should any emergency arise. Thus the cancellation of our dear Cambodia trip... :(

However on the plus side, our School has allowed us to go to Yunnan, China instead! We do not have to merge with the TOOP Yunnan group, but rather we can still stick to our team! In addition, most of our planned activities are still relevant for the Yunnan trip, just that due to the cold weather, we have to bring cold wear. Other than that, I hope everything would be fine :)

Firstly, I would like to thank the Percussion Section for the rather "odd" birthday present (no offense i hope :P) and card, and the Double Reed section for the big frog card. Really appreciate both the gifts and thoughts :)

Today I went to see a concert by Westwinds at the Esplanade with some TJ band members. It was really cool not only in the band's playing, but also because the guest conductor was Jacob de Haan! And we managed to get an autograph from him and our section even took a picture with him too :)

For dinner, our section went to Burger Kings at Marina Square, where we encountered several moments of black-out throughtout our meal. Perhaps they were in the "post-Earth hour" mood XD

And tomorrow's the start of the SYF and BVCB is playing in the afternoon! All the very best guys! I'm sure you all can achieve a better future for the band! :D

One word to describe my life for the past few weeks: Hectic!

I was packed with several projects and swarmed with tutorials...

Glad that they're somewhat finished and my interview for the Outreach Programme(which I was fretting for a few days as it was my first interview) is finally over.

Really looking forward to the March holidays to take a well-deserved break and catch up with whatever I've left out in. And not forgetting the planned CG outing! :)

Finally the 1-week orientation (2/2 - 6/2) at TJC has come to an end! But it was definitely a SUPER SOLID fun week!!!

And for last night, the O-night, our group, OG 9 from Xcion (my clan), won the skit section of the programme, helping to lead to Xcion's victory!!! WOOHOO!!! At least our efforts were well paid of! The night was indeed a night to remember!

Hi guys! It has definitely been some time since I last posted. Well, I was on holiday in Europe for about two weeks. Two words to describe the trip: PURE WONDERFUL! The places were historical and most importantly is the cool weather that the country has to offer. The coldest temperature that I'd experienced was -15 degrees when I was on the top of Europe, the mountain of Jungfraujoch in Switzerland. The food was great too especially the pasta! Lastly, I had also made some new friends in the tour group.

Anyway, today I had a section outing with my ex-double reed section members, Ryan, Linus and Natalie. Unfortunately, Ying Ying did not follow us. We first had a movie and had lunch at Suntec City. We managed to catch the 2.40 sneak preview of Twilight! The movie is great, especially the plot. I usually don't watch love stories but this is an exception :) You guys should catch it soon.

Today was indeed a really interesting day, with full of surprises and excitements during the concert band graduation ceremony! The graduating seniors reported to the AVA at about 3.30pm, together with the guests and ex-seniors. The AVA was really decorated for the occasion, with balloons hanging and posters pasted on the walls, dedicated to us(graduating seniors). Thanks guys!

Firstly, Ms Ong gave a speech, starting with the usual formalities and then thanking the graduating seniors for their contributions to the band. Next, the band members played a piece for us, entitled "St. Petersburg March". Quite an interesting song, with a forceful tempo. Then it was followed
by the video presentation created by Shan Hui and Amanda, contributed by us. It was quite embarrassing when it showed my part so I shan't talk much about it :X But the other parts were humorous and overall, it was a great video.

Later, Shan Hui and Amanda each gave a speech. The presentation of the tokens of appreciation to the graduating seniors was next. Each of us received a soft toy stuffed in a cup and a certificate. The soft toy looked cute, though it was
an "unusual" token :P. And finally was the announcement of the new band leaders! The atmosphere during that time was really tensing as Ms Ong announced the new batch of leaders!

To all the newly elected SLs, Majors(Lorraine and Darren Ng) and other committee members, congratulations to all of you
guys! Work hard in your new posts and contribute your efforts to the band! Some of you guys might be disappointed on the posts you all received, but everything happens for a reason ya? So you never know, it might be a blessing in disguise :) To those who did not receive any post, don't be disheartened ya? You all are still very important in guiding your members, especially the juniors, and keeping the band in order.

Good luck and all the best in bringing the band to greater heights! Don't let your graduating seniors and ex-seniors down okay?

Oh finally, thank you to those who had given me gifts during the occasion. I really appreciate them a lot!

Today was an interesting day. My family and I attended the 12.15pm mass at OLPS Church. And for today's mass, the biblical readings were spoken in two different languages. Unlike the ordinary readings that were spoken in English, the first reading was read in the Tagalog language, while the second reading was read in Mandarin. It was quite unusual to hear the reading spoken in Chinese, so I couldn't quite catch what the lady was saying. Anyway, it was quite an enriching experience :)

First of all, Happy Youth Day to all youths out there! :)

Well, I didn't had the chance to go out today. Stayed at home for almost the whole day, doing my revision and weekend homework. But at night, my family and I went out for dinner at Sakae Sushi at Changi Airport's T2. We spent over a certain amount of money at the restaurant, so we were entitled to draw a scratch card from the lucky dip box. And my dad drew one of it and it turned out that we had won a collectible(notebook). Well at least we won something... :)

Oh lastly, the ice blended Belgian Chocolate drink from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is simply addictive :P

Yay tomorrow's a holiday! :)

Hey guys! It has been some time since I last posted. Anyway today was a usual day in school. After school, I went for higher chinese class with the other HMT friends. As usual, everyone was doing their own stuff during class and practically no one was listening to the teacher XD! Haha...

Btw I've changed my blog song(again!). It's called "Let's Get Together Now", sang by the supergroup Voice of Korea/Japan (Lena Park and Brown Eyes for Korea and Sowelu and
Chemistry for Japan). Apparently, it was used as an anthem for the 2002 World Cup. Quite long ago ya? But anyway it has a catchy, makes-you-wanna-dance tune!

Today my class had a BBQ outing at East Coast Park. When I arrived at the pit, some of my classmates told me to hand my valuables over to them for "safekeeping". And then just as I had expected, four of them held my arms and legs, carried me all the way to the beach and threw me into the sea. This was supposedly the "treatment" given to those who came late. Lol :P

Anyway we had a fun time chatting with each other and eating and towards the end of the BBQ, there came a sudden and continuous gust of wind which blew towards our direction. The thing was, the wind was so strong that the drink in a plastic cup had ripples in it and the cup was vibrating slightly. All of the rubbish and utensils from our pit were blown away, but eventually we cleared them up. And then soon after the gust of wind, which seemed to blow for about 15 minutes, came the heavy rain and all of us were drenched to our skin. After that, most of us went home at about 11 pm.

Ahh... What a day! Hope to have more of such class outings!

Hey Bedok View Concert Band members, here are the details of the upcoming band outing next week:-

What? Picnic at Pasir Ris Park. Each section brings their allocated food (potluck)
When? On the 13th of June, Friday; Starts at 4pm
Where? A big open-spaced area. It's after the People's Association Pasir Ris Holiday Complex; Near an information centre and the Watercross Restaurant
How? To get there, take bus 403 from Pasir Ris Interchange (Near Pasir Ris MRT station) and alight after 11 stops from the interchange (last bus stop)

P.S. Any section with problems bringing their allocated food or getting to the place, feel free to approach me.

Lastly, hope to see all of you guys there as this would be the last outing before the current batch of Sec 4 members step down :(

Has the Maplesea craze come back again?

Well I guess it did! Ever since the 3rd anniversary of Maplesea, I have been starting to play it again. Of all the other online games that I've played, Maplestory never fails to capture my interest back again in playing it. Well, I guess it's still really exciting to level up as fast as we can, now with the many opportunities to gain experience!

Confirmation Day!

Hello guys! Today was a very special for all the Confirmands of the OLPS Church as stated on the title. Finally after about 3 years and 4 months of preparation, we finally had our Confirmation. By the way, Confirmation is an occasion where the Holy Spirit is sealed in the Baptised Christians, where we continue to be witnesses of Christ and spread forth his Word with the help of the Holy Spirit. The Confirmation mass started at about 3 pm and ended at about 5 plus. Here are some pictures taken during the event:

Hi today was yet another usual day in school. I didn't attend school for the first two days of the week as I wasn't feeling really good. Thought my sore throat that I had gotten on Saturday was better; little did I know that the doctor said that it had not fully recovered, so he gave me an antibiotics for that! And then following the sore throat is the common flu! Well at least I had 2 days of MC so I took the full opportunity to rest well, and woke up at 10 plus :P

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of updates :) Anyway, today was the last day for Term 1! A week of holiday awaits all of us! We got back our report slips. Hai, I still cannot believe that I'd failed my languages :( Such a big disappointment to myself. But nevertheless, there's still time to buck up! Haha. After school, there was band practice as usual. Heard that some of the nice pieces, such as J-pop and Chanteys, were taken out from the repertoires for the upcoming concert :(

A day of fast and abstinence

Even though Ash Wednesday falls on tomorrow, today was a day of fast and abstinence, as tomorrow is also Chinese New Year Eve. So cannot really fast and not eat during the reunion dinner on the Eve right? Haha. Well actually it was yet another usual day for me, only for the fact that I had skipped lunch after school. And then later it was a rush yet again to the higher chinese class. We had our 听写and I didn't know how to fill in most of the words on the paper :P. Oh well, chinese is just pure tough! Anyway after the class, it was a rush back to school for band practice, in time to play a few songs. In the night, my family and I attended the Ash Wednesday Mass at 8pm, at the Holy Trinity Church, where there was the imposition of ashes. That's all for today :)

Anglican High Band Concert

The highlight of today was the AH Band concert held at the Anglican High School main hall. Before going for the concert, I met up with Darren Ng and Karen first. The concert pieces that the band played were mellodious and catchy, especially the familiar tunes of The Pink Panther, one of which is performed by a Baritone Saxophone solo. I was also impressed with the Percussion Ensemble. There was even a lucky draw session where hampers were given out to lucky winners of the selected numbers. Unfortunately, neither of the three of us won anything. Haha. At the end of the concert, the band played a Chinese New Year piece as one of its Encore pieces, while the band members who were not playing, threw sweets at the audience! I managed to grab hold of 2 of them! Lol. Overall, the concert was really cool!

OMG! The holidays are over and school has reopened already! Can't believe that the End-of-Year holidays really End very fast! Haha. Hai I think it's true that somehow time passes really swiftly when you are enjoying yourself. Anyway today was quite a relax day in school. We did some administrative paperwork like the updating of our personal profile. Thankfully, this week was orientation week, thus lessons officially start only next week. So these few days are still quite relaxed : )

A Sunday of fun

Hi! Today I attended the 10.30am mass at OLPS church with Samuel, Li Ling, Karen and Nic Huang. Haha it is indeed fun to learn about the teachings of Our Lord and sing the hymns together with a group of friends. After that, we went to have lunch at Marina Square, after which we took a train to Bugis to have our pictures taken at the NeoPrint machines area(don't really know the specific name of the place). Pictures ah... Turn out quite okay la... just that the modification of some pictures made them quite weird and hilarious too :D After that, sort of rushed home to get ready to leave for my music lesson. Okay that's all for today.

A visit by Japanese students; Hari Raya Concert; Band practice resumes

Hihi! Today was quite an interesting day in school. Firstly we heard a speech by Mr Zaldy in the AVA auditorium about something to do with psychology and about the phases in children. It was quite inspirational. Then it was followed by a police talk. Afterwards we were quite free and relax for the next two periods before recess, as we didn't do any studying. There was also a Hari Raya Concert put up for us after recess. Today was also a special day as some Japanese students from Japan came to visit our school. They certainly look very mature! Besides that, they also sang a Japanese song for us during the concert, well actually only a handful of them out of the group sang the song :P; perhaps the others were too shy... And there was also this Japanese guy wearing black sunglasses who was the centre of attention when he showed himself to the audience. Haha... Overall it was quite a unique experience :). And then after school there was band practice till 6 as usual. Okay I shall end my post here.

Hihi. I know my blog kinda died during the past few weeks. Anyway the exams period just over! Woohoo! Today just took my oral English exam. I was so nervous before the exam. After the exam, only one word to say, "PHEW!" Haha... I am always afraid of oral exams even though I had taken it for many times now. Okay that's all I want to post. Wah I am very "heng heng" today! After HMT class, I took a bus back home and when I was about to leave the bus, I accidentally dropped my wallet upon getting off my seat. And how blur of me to just walk off without even noticing my dropped wallet. Then there was this student in the bus who saw my wallet and threw it back to me when I was walking down the stairs. Then when I alighted from the bus and the bus was moving off from the bus stop, there were many people looking at me from the top of the bus. LOL. Anyway I didn't have the chance to thank the student just now, so I shall thank him from the bottom of my heart through this post.

Hi! I am back again. Didn't had time to post as I was busy preparing for the common tests. Surprisingly this time the common tests sort of ended quite quickly. Nevertheless, I feel quite relieved that they are over. After school today, I went for the NAPFA retest to retake my failed station. WooHoo! I finally passed after failing for many times last time. Haha... Oh well, sometimes unexpected things happen when you are at the least expected. Okay that's about everything.

Today was a pretty fun day. After school, the Biology students had to attend the Life Sciences Symposium at 2.15pm, while other students were encouraged to attend too. It show-cased the various projects done by the Life Sciences Club members throughout the year. Overall, the programme was quite exciting. After band practice, Darren, Karen and I went to VivoCity to buy tickets for the movie tomorrow. And it was then that I realised that tickets for new shows were more expensive and since we bought in a day advance, the price also increased by a little. We had our dinner and then we went to the children's playground. Quite childish though as they were many kids around us :P. Nevertheless, we had as much fun as the kids...

Birthday dinner

Yesterday our family had dinner with all of my relatives to celebrate my cousin's birthday at a Japanese restaurant. There was a huge variety of food served and all of us ate to our hearts' content! I really enjoyed the dinner experience not only because of the food but also the gathering of our relatives. Here are some of the pictures:
